How it happened
The Maitea store in Berlin was a step on our journey that we hadn't actually planned – almost a spontaneous adventure. It all started when we, Julika & Mayar, the founders of Maitea jewelry, sold our first pieces at the Berlin markets. Our dream: to offer high-quality, waterproof jewelry at fair prices and one day to realize our own designs.
Our first big step
In 2023, we took a big step: a stall at the Berlin Christmas market – a bold move that more than paid off. You fell in love with our jewelry, and for the first time, we heard the question:
"Do you also have a store in Berlin?"
From the market to Maitea's home in Berlin
In 2024, we continued to travel to the Berlin markets, but it soon became too cramped to manage everything from home. So we looked for a permanent location – naturally in Friedrichshain, our neighborhood where it all began.
The Maitea Store is being built
Our Maitea store in Berlin-Friedrichshain (Gabriel-Max-Straße 21) opened its doors on August 1, 2024. Everything gradually came together – hanging plants, the Maitea logo, our green couch, and the counter where we now present our jewelry.
A year full of gratitude
For a year now, our little jewelry shop has been hidden behind scaffolding, but you can still find us. We are incredibly grateful for that! Every visit, every smile, every little chat with you makes our day brighter.
