At Maitea, we place great importance on the quality and craftsmanship of our jewelry – so you can wear it with confidence for years to come. We offer a 5 years warranty covering manufacturing defects to ensure your lasting satisfaction.

Summary

  • Lifetime warranty on stainless steel, PVD-coated stainless steel, and sterling silver against manufacturing defects

  • Replacement or equivalent product in case of defects – defective items can be returned by post for inspection

  • Jewelry care: Tarnishing of silver is natural and easy to clean. Gold-plated silver gradually returns to its silver base over time.

  • Not covered: Fading of gold plating, damage caused by improper handling, normal wear and tear, loss, or theft

  • How to claim: Contact support@maitea.de with proof of purchase, photos, and a short description of the issue

Warranty Coverage and Conditions

The warranty period is 5 years for stainless steel, PVD-coated stainless steel, and sterling silver.
If a manufacturing defect is confirmed, we will replace the item or provide an equivalent product.
Defective items can be sent back by post for inspection and resolution.

Jewelry Care

Sterling silver naturally develops a light patina over time – this can be easily cleaned with a silver cloth or gentle cleaning products.

Gold-plated silver develops a natural patina and gradually returns to its silver base, as it is not permanently waterproof. This is not a defect, but a normal material characteristic.

Stainless steel jewelry, no matter the color, is extremely durable and can be worn while washing hands, showering, or swimming. Should any discoloration occur, it is covered by the 5 years Warranty.

Detailed Warranty Coverage

Stainless Steel and PVD-Coated Stainless Steel:

  • 5 years warranty against manufacturing defects, including material or coating adhesion issues

  • Discoloration and tarnishing are also covered

Sterling Silver:

  • 5 years warranty against material and workmanship defects, ensuring the natural silver shine remains intact

  • Note: Contact with saltwater or extreme conditions may cause silver to darken. This is a natural process, easily cleaned, and not covered under warranty

Clasps, Chains, and Fastenings:

  • 5 years warranty against breakage caused by manufacturing defects

Stone Settings:

  • 5 years warranty against loosening or shifting of stones due to manufacturing defects


Exclusions and Limitations

  • Gold-Plated Sterling Silver: Not covered for fading or wear of the gold plating, as silver cannot be made permanently waterproof. The rate of wear depends on individual use and skin pH.

  • Adjustable Silver Rings: Breakage due to excessive bending or improper use is excluded. These rings should be adjusted carefully to maintain durability.

  • Normal Wear and Tear: Scratches, fading, tarnishing, or discoloration caused by daily use, chemical exposure, or improper care are excluded.

  • Loss or Theft: Maitea does not replace lost or stolen jewelry.

  • Unauthorized Alterations: Repairs or modifications by unauthorized parties void the warranty.

How to Claim Your Warranty

  1. Contact support@maitea.de with proof of purchase.

  2. Include photos and a short description of the problem.

  3. Send the defective item to:

After reviewing your claim, we will:

  • Replace the defective product with the same or a similar item of equal value, or

  • Offer a partial or full refund if a replacement is not possible.

Note: Maitea reserves the right to determine warranty coverage after inspecting the item.
